lyrics
well, I play my uncle’s guitar
because one day, he died
did not know too much about it
first time I saw my dad cry
comes and goes like a river flows
lied out, dried out on the bed
I suspect every one I know
is gonna meet the same damn end
every day your ears pop pop
from the blisters in your brain
hammer nails into your head
and flush it down the drain
don’t look down at the news too much
or it all gets far too real
yeah, the world is filled with animals
you gotta fight for every meal
so just lie back
amplify that sound
you gotta turn it up so loud
BECAUSE ONE DAY YOU'RE GONN' DIE
'CAUSE YOU JUST DO
AS FOR ME, MYSELF & I
WE'RE GONNA DO IT TOO!well we're a lying, crying bunch of people
who say we been done wrong
but it's two minutes to midnight, honey
and they're playing our song
I’m gonna wrap you in my arms so tight
and hold you oh so near
when it all starts burning up all around
be no need to shed more tears
so just lie back
amplify that sound
you gotta turn it up so loud
scream it out! jump up and down!
you see...
BECAUSE ONE DAY YOU'RE GONN' DIE
'CAUSE YOU JUST DO
AS FOR ME, MYSELF & I
WE'RE GONNA DO IT TOO!
YEAH ONE DAY YOU'RE GONN' DIE
YEAH, YOU JUST DO
BY AND BY AND BY AND BY
WE'RE LIVING PROOF

Cooler than that half bottle of rye you left in the snow last night. Warm as the couch you just woke up on. Bright as the Sunday morning winter sun... indoor with sunglasses on. d2tharoc

I saw Trace Mountains open for Wild Pink at DC9 in Washington, D.C. I like Wild Pink a lot but Trace Mountains was an eye-opener that night, and I only later realized I had previously seen Dave Benton perform with LVL Up at the 9:30 Club. This album is just eminently listenable: great instrumentation, easy lyrics, a lot of spirit. Jake Grubman
